This commanding close-up captures a Royal Air Force Chinook helicopter of 27 Squadron in flight over Scottish farmland, its twin rotors beating with unmistakable power. Taken during the return transit from Exercise Tartan Tusker, the image highlights both the rugged presence of the Chinook and the technical precision demanded of its crews.
Based out of RAF Lossiemouth, Exercise Tartan Tusker tested the Chinook Force’s ability to rapidly deploy personnel and aircraft to unfamiliar operating areas within the UK. The training included advanced tactical flying, underslung load operations, and joint tasking alongside British Army and Royal Marines units in the challenging terrain of northern Scotland.
Each Classic Metal Print is created using Gloss Chromaluxe Aluminium and the advanced process of dye sublimation, delivering exceptional clarity, colour, and durability. The print is mounted using a precision-engineered float block, making it ready to hang straight out of the box with a clean, frameless presentation and a 2 cm standoff from the wall.
